How long has everyone here had a gamecube and if so have you started to expirence any techinical problems with it? ex: like it will try to load up the game and then just stop trying to load it up and no matter how many times you open the lid and reclose it to try to reload it up it still does the same thing?

Wed, July 26, 2006 - 9:01 AMThe only issue I have had with my cube is occasionally the game will stop and a window pops up that says no disc or dirty disk, cannot read or something to that affect. All I have to do is pop the lid and close it again and it works fine. It doesnt happen all that often, but I fear it may mean that the drive is going. As it is, I am not too worried, since the Wii is due out soon.
Both my Xbox and my PS2 had bad drive issues much earlier on, and I play my gamecube more than I ever played the other two systems. -

Sounds like you have the start of a drive failure. One last ditch test I would do would be to take my memory card and take it to a friends (or a friendly used place that has systems for testing) and try it there just to rule out the game.
